What does the tagalog word "mapanakit" mean in english?

I'm learning tagalog since I'll be living in the Philippines soon, so sometimes I find words that I try to learn by looking them up in translators on the net. I've seen this word all over the place, but can't find a single page or translator that will tell me what it means in english, so it's kind of driving me crazy. Any help would be appreciated. What does the tagalog word "mapanakit" mean in english?
Mapanakit

- an adjective; someone or something that can cause pain

from the rootword "SAKIT", which can either mean pain or sickness; affixed with the prefix "MAPA" which means "something that can cause" applied with tagalog/filipino grammatical rule.

According to this rule, any rootword which starts with the letter 'S" and affixed with the prefix "MAPA", provided that the purpose is to transform the rootword into an adjective, the letter 'S' will be transformed into letter 'N'

hence:

MAPA- (something than can cause)

SAKIT (pain)

MAPA + SAKIT

MAPA + (S-%26gt;N)AKIT= MAPANAKIT

MAPANAKIT(something that can cause pain)

Another example:

MAPA- (something that can cause)

SIRA (destroy/ruin)

MAPA + SIRA

MAPA+ (S-%26gt; N)IRA= MAPANIRA

MAPANIRA (something that can cause destruction or ruin)

NOTE:

MAPA does not always mean this way. MAPA- can also mean "inevitable" or " an attempt." S-%26gt;N rule is only applied when transforming a word into an adjective.

so in contrast, MAPASIRA is different from MAPANIRA.

MAPASIRA- inevitable ruin (colloquially, ruin of public image)

* doesn't follow the S-%26gt;N rule.

MAPANIRA- something that can cause destruction or ruin

example of MAPA as "an attempt

MAPA + saya (happy)

MAPASAYA (an attempt to make someone happy)

* it does follow the S-%26gt;N rule.
