Someone shared with me and a few others that the Language of the Holy Spirit is the Bible. This is the language withwhich He speaks, teaches, leads and guides us in.
One person walked up to another and began speaking in spanish. He was speaking, but the person to which he was speaking did not understand much of the spanish language. He just kept looking at him, but was not able to respond appropriately.
This brother who was doing this demonstration was encouraging us to be those who take care of our spiritman by reading, feeding, studying and enjoying the Rich words of Christ to be found in the Bible. That today, the Holy Spirit desires so much to speak to us, but the " language " that He speaks is the Word of God, the Bible. The word of God renews our minds, that we would know what the will of God is, that which is good and well pleasing and pefect ( Rom 12:2).
Yet if the Language of the Spirit is the Word of God, then how would we know how to go on in the Christian life? How would the Spirit speak to us clearly and in a solid way if there is not the " taking in" of the Word. Too often I believe we can grow to depend on the " second hand" sharing of others in order to be directed by God. We have spiritual " translators" that function to speak the word to us, when the Lord really desires that we have a hands on way of getting into the Word.
This really touched me and brought to mind that the Word of Christ needs to dwell in us richly, in all wisdom, as we teach and admonish one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in our hearts to God ( Col 3:16)
We know that as believers, we are those who should be led by the Spirit of God (Rom 8:14), we should walk in the spirit (Gal 5: 16). That the Lord needs to be able to speak to us. But if the Language is the Bible, then what should our attitude and our desire be to take the Word of God and store it up in our being?
Do we see that today, what the Lord speaks to us is His Word? That His word can be applied to any situation?
Can you fellowship with us of anytime when, in your christian walk, the Holy Spirit brought a verse to mind when you were in a situation? Or He was able to give you the meaning of a verse while you were not even in front of the bible reading or studying or feeding on its riches.
Its like you received a revelation and some shining on a verse and right there and then, the word became real to you?
Has this happened to you?
Was it the result of either hearing or reading the word?
Please tell us how the Holy Spirit speaks the Language of the Bible to minister to your heart and unveil the riches of Christ to you.
Ty for taking the time to read and post to this question.
Love in Christ

|||The greatest thing about studying the word of God with the person of the Holy Spirit teaching us is that He knows us personally as well as Christ does. And it is true what you say Sandy...the word when we study it is far better for us when studied alone with no other but the Holy Spirit of the Lord as the Director of Our Faith. The one who knows our innermost hearts and what food it really needs. He who above all else can admonish us in the ways of the Lord, who better than He knows how to comfort us, encourage us onward towards God ~ He digs into our hearts and loosens the soil and pulls out the nasty weeds and some of these weeds have the biggest roots. He also plants spiritual seeds and gives us insights into God's holy words that not brother or sister in the Lord can! He improves us in such ways that we can't even begin to share all of them.
The word of God is our light and knowing the word directs us into all righteousness. That is why it is imporatnt for us to fellowship with the Lord in all aspects. Not just by listening to others but by opening the eyes of our hearts to what the Lord wants us to individually see... for our lives and for the lives of those who are in our pathways!
I absolutely agree that we need to study, memorize and store the word of God deeply within our hearts so that we can first be healed within ourselves and do service for Our Lord. Afterall it is hard to prepare a meal for someone when we are missing the main ingredients.
We need to get serious in our attitudes about how we are governing ourselves, and what is taking away the time needed to spend some alone time with our Lord. At least I do! And so true...it has to come firsthand from our Lord...for it to have the weight He needs for it to accomplish what He intends it to do! May the Holy Spirit teach and guide us in this and open our hearts to see.
Thank you sister for the reminder of what Christ is building and why we need to coopperate with him! The following verse says we perish without the Lord's knowledge!
Hosea 4:6 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
We must be obedient in this manner as well!
I would like to add that at many times I have had these experiences...the Holy spirit definately does open up the verses of the bible and reveals new revelations to all of us who follow and love the Lord. The Holy Spirit does give us new insights when we are least expecting these. Also when we witness to others we suddenly see spiritually many aspects of the truth to share with others...God bless you Sandy...because this is the best part of this very loooooooong question! he he! I had to come back to it! :)|||there is only two languages the language of truth and the language of lies and all the others languages are born of them, the devil is the father of lies, and god is the true word the language of truth, you decide? but let me say one thing the truth shall set you free!|||Speaking in tongues has a 2 fold meaning, one is that you pray to God in another language, %26amp; 2 You speak in tongues in church tolet another interpretate your tongues, or even yourselve can interpretate your own tongues, But remember Tongues %26amp; Interpretation is not going to say something against God's word, if it does it is not of God, Tongues is one of the nine spirtiual gifts, In my own Christain experince, God has placed in my life tongues %26amp; interpretation of tongues, do I know what I say in tongues, NO only God does %26amp; then the one that intepretate the tongue %26amp; then the whole church. Do I speak in tongues all the time, No do I interpretater everytime, No, why because God has to annoint me %26amp; there are other people in our congregation can use the same gifts, But always remember the gifts are to edify the church. Let me also say that speaking in tongues will not go against God's Word, But neither does it have to stay in God's word, What I mean is there may be tongues %26amp; interpretations just for someone in our church that may be going through a trial %26amp; no one knows it except the person %26amp; God, God can annoint someone to give that person encouragement.|||By reading and memorizing scripture I am able to bring to mind verses throughout the day.
Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools Rom 1:22
Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 1 Cor 1:20
but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 1 Cor 1:23
The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him…. 1 Cor 2:14
See what I mean.
|||l think it simply mean making the word of God a part of you try and always meditate on the word of God try to always study the word of god and doing accordingly to things instructed it will definetly be part of you.|||"The 'Holy Spirit' puts an 'invisible hand' over my mouth,
before I have to put my foot in my mouth."
"When angered, I Let my pen do my talking."
"The 'Holy Spirit' keeps me from ever arguing."
"I calmly mail my complaints rather than fuss and argue."|||Romans 10:17 ... So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing, by, the Word of God.
Reading the 10th. Chapter of Romans will shew forth a people that actually had a knowledge of the written word. Yet, there is a scolding, because they only had a "head knowledge", not a heart knowledge. Heart knowledge is what was trying to be explained in verse 17. So, to put the scriptures together, and promote this understanding, vs. 17 could be phrased as : So then, faith cometh by hearing what the Spirit is saying, and this hearing what the Spirit is saying, by, the Word of God.
I heard of a King, that could recite the whole bible, from "in the beginning", to "Amen" , yet, he did not BELIEVE ! The ability to memorize the scriptures will NOT do any good whatsoever, if the word is not received with BELIEF. Also, it is the "enlightened" Word of God, that renews our spirit, and gives us the revelation of just what is the Mind of God. Those that has received the Spirit, has a promise of the Lord bringing forth the Word from their inner being, when needed. Of course, it is prudent to READ the Word, so the revelations may come forth.
Good Seed vs. Bad Seed
I have been so disheartened at times when I was into growing a garden, because after ordering seed, and putting all the labour into growing, when it came to harvest time, only to find that the seed planted was a "hy-brid". It was seed that had been tainted : Generically engineered ! The fruit didn't have the juice, the flavour, and couldn't be replanted ! There is a reason some seed is called " heirloom". It is a precious seed, delightful to the taste and eyes, and can continue in reproduction with the same " un-altered" qualities.
I've said all that to say this : THE TRUE SEED, THE WORD OF GOD, WILL ALWAYS GIVE FORTH WHAT IS EXPECTED OF IT. There is SO many variations of INTERPRETATIONS of the Word of God, and, to decipher it is beyond our ability, UNLESS, we look toward the HEIRLOOM. A Seed tried and tested, without alterations !
This Seed comes through trusting in what you HEAR what the Spirit is saying to His church. The Revelations of Gods Word is the TRUE SEED, the Heirloom ! Once you experience a revelation of Gods Word, there isn't a demon in or out of hell that can alter that ! Halleluiah !!!
Oh, TASTE, and see, How Good The Lord is...
" Upon this revelation, I shall build My church..........."
Have you ever wrote a book ? I'm thinking that if I write a book , what I'm seeing in my mind is what I'm trying to put on paper. When the book has been finished I can read it and "see" what I was seeing during the writing.
When someone else reads my book they envision as they read, and probably come close to some of the things I was seeing as I wrote, but unless they can get into MY mind they can never experience ALL of what I envisioned as I wrote.
So, to understand the Bible we must be in the mind of God. This is called revelations...
Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God; but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
1st. Corinthians 2; 14-16 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them because THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED.
1st. Corinthians 2;16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that He may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
1st. Corinthians 2;10 But God hath revealed them unto us BY HIS SPIRIT; for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
There was a time when a man came to me and had a bible verse he didn't understand so he asked me to explain it. So I read the scripture and opened my mouth, and the explanation came forth. When I got through, I looked at him and said " I didn't know that ". Soon as I said that, we were both rolling in the floor doubled over in Holy laughter. We rolled on the floor for quite awhile. Then later, I found this scripture : Psalms 126:2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. There was a lot of people around, I guess they thought us to be a bit peculiar.....
PEACE AND LOVE in the HOLY GHOST....|||In the past people didn't have the resources we have now.
I absolutely believe that we are to use all the resources available to us so that we would be prepared to give an answer for our faith.
We have had the Holy spirit all this time and should have been using Him as our primary source but much learning does have a tendency to make people very arrogant and inaccessible, thus denying or quenching the Spirit for the sake of supporting your stand or belief !
So, I guess we should be taking it all in but not without the Spirit of God that He has left us !|||I love your explanation because I have experienced this. I didn't know anything about the bible when I became a christian. I didn't even know all the names of the books. The miraculous thing was that whenever I was having a problem in my life I would pray and ask God for a message. Then I would randomly open the Bible and it would be the exact verse that helped me through my troubles. God is really Amazing.
By the way before I became a christian I used to read the bible just to see what it was all about and I could never make head or tail of it then. |||A very old woman once told me that she had been reading her bible and studying it for a long long time and that what never ceased to amaze her was that it seemed that every time she read well it seemed that the same scriptures would be reaching her in a different way. That is because the word of God searches our hearts and minds the way no other will ever search. It is a humbleing thought how God works in the spirit of man.The spirit moves here and there and no man I say no man can reach into the hearts to effect the needed changes only God himself. What I read and moved me when I was young reads totally different today.Thats why knowledge should never puff up ,How the spirit speaks to our hearts can not be interperted into any language because it is a language all in its self.|||A very deep question, sister. Some of our precious brothers and sisters have answered it well from various angles, so I will just add two more points.
One is to always depend on the Holy Spirit inside us to discern the truth of the gospel, to check whether we are receiving words that build us up or tear us down. The apostle Paul, upon leaving the Ephesian church, gave this warning in love to the elders, "For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after themselves." (Acts 20:29-30)
His exhortation for them (as well as to us) is "So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified." (Acts 20:32)
So we need to always keep ourselves rooted and grounded in the word of His grace, namely the gospel of grace of Christ, which is able to build us up, not tear us down. Paul was warning us against Judaizers and legalists, who are savage wolves perverting the gospel of grace and bringing in the law or man-made religious rules and traditions to condemn and tear people down. (2 Corinthians 3) For example, Paul wrote that some will depart from the faith, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron (meaning "having sin-consciousness"), forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from food which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. (1 Timothy 4:1-3) Therefore, we need to be discerning. :)
Second, the way we discern the truth of the gospel is to check against the Bible for ourselves, and go by the presence or absence of peace within us because "the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace". (Romans 8:6) Does a brother or sister speak or write words that minister life or minister death? Do their words bring peace to our hearts or do they minister unrest? Remember Jesus has come to be our Rest and to give us rest. (Hebrews 4, Matthew 11:28)
Also, we Christians have the anointing abiding in us, therefore we do not need that anyone teach us; but as the same anointing teaches us concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught us, we will abide in Him. (1 John 2:27) So, whenever we receive a word of advice or counsel from a brother or sister, we need to check whether their words confirm or contradict what we already know intuitively. If unsure, again we need to read the Scriptures for ourselves. As the Bible says, "Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil." (1 Thessalonians 5:19-22)
That's about all I have to say. :) Peace be with you, sister.|||I never believed in Christian brainwashing until I read this... you do know how ludicrous all that sounds, don't you?
Why doesn't God just speak to you in your native language in a loud clear voice so there is not confusion about what he says? It would seem a perfect God would do this so that there was no chance of imperfect humans misinterpreting what he says...
"Do we see that today, what the Lord speaks to us is His Word? That His word can be applied to any situation?"
His word can be applied to any situation because he doesn't speak up... so you have to guess at what God is saying to you. "Ohh my Bible fell open to a page that had a verse that told me ..." is a common way "god speaks" to Christians. Seems god has a bit of a speech impediment.|||Wow...just...just wow. I'd rather have a god pop up and speak English to me, no need to be "spiritually" talked to, thanks....haha|||Sandy, you are spiritualizing the Bible beyond measure... Your faith is like a balloon full of hot air... and it works for you... so good luck... but I learned about the Bible God in a way that made me drop out of Christianity and religion altogether... this is what I know now...
The Bible God worshipped by the Christians in America is the one that forced his chosen people to eat their own children for dinner NOT AS A PUNISHMENT, but as an option in time of famine. God never objected about it…! And Christians still make so much fuss about abortions! This is a study about Christian bigotry.
Nothing is taken out of context here. The Bible was obviously written by some primitive Holy “men of God” who knew how to control religious people... Any religion then was as savage as you can possibly imagine. The Bible is a hangover from those days... The Bible God is too bloody and wicked for just any person to believe without first smoothing out the rough edges. America is ONE NATION UNDER GOD… and… IN GOD WE TRUST only because of the collapse of our gold monetary standard. It did the trick of calming down a large segment of the religious population. Christians get abused because they hardly read the Bible!
Christians blame atheists of being “baby killers,” but that’s only to cover up their own Biblical indiscretions! The “LOVING” Bible God is totally powerless to teach anybody a lesson without FORCING them to eat their own children for dinner for whatever reason in the Good and Spacious Land Flowing with Milk and Honey* (*According to the Bible, this was factual ONLY before Israel invaded the Promised Holy Land that was populated by some Heathen nations). This primitive predator God takes it on the innocent children! Paradoxically, Christians are banning ALL ABORTIONS so there will be more children for dinner! Spiritually speaking, of course…!
The Bible God's sadistic pleasures are the kinkiest ones ever to be invented in human history...!!! Throughout history not an atheistic dictator in the world EVER thought of forcing his people to eat their own children for dinner...!!! It is so repulsive that no smut publication EVER thought of publishing anything like that, either but you can enjoy reading all about it in the Bible! Christians feel that the DEVIL is seeding this information in their Bible to confuse them! If they read the Bible they do it in an obscure King James verbiage so that any gross savagery can be explained away very easily!
Leviticus 26:29 - (God says) YOU WILL eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters* (*…Christians know that “if God says it I believe it! And that settles it!”)
Deuteronomy 28:53-57 - Because of the suffering that your enemy will inflict on you during the siege, YOU WILL EAT THE FRUIT OF THE WOMB, THE FLESH OF THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS THE LORD YOUR GOD HAS GIVEN YOU* (*God won’t protect the innocent children, but YOU will have a gourmet dinner on them…! Praise the LORD! Sweet Jesus! Amen? – Don’t take me seriously I am not a Christian!). Even the most gentle and sensitive man* (*not a homosexual or a Godless atheist, but a chosen child of God!) among you will have no compassion on his own brother or the wife he loves or his surviving children* (*after eating the youngest ones!), and he will not give to one of them any of the flesh of his children that he is eating…* (*This is such a despicable devilish sin… NOT SHARING!)
Jeremiah 19:9 - I (God, NOT SATAN, but GOD!) WILL MAKE THEM EAT THE FLESH OF THEIR SONS AND DAUGHTERS... (This portion of the Bible was written for the pleasure of the bizarre oriented right wing Fundies who love and trust the LORD for their “salvation”!)
Ezekiel 5:10 - Therefore in your midst fathers WILL EAT THEIR CHILDREN...* (*practically ALL the Bible writers are going berserk trying to convey “God’s message” about eating children! GOD NEVER SPOKE A WORD AGAINST EATING YOUR OWN CHILDREN, but he forced his chosen people to do it in the Good and Spacious Land Flowing with Milk and Honey! When Moses surveyed the Promised Holy Land, it took 2 men to carry a single bunch of grapes to show Israel how plentiful was the land that they were going to take over!)
Lamentations 4:10 - With their own hands COMPASSIONATE women* (*GODLY… Not lesbians or atheistic ladies, but God loving heterosexual “WOMEN” --plural/many!) HAVE COOKED THEIR OWN CHILDREN... (Praise the LORD!)
These are not the only few episodes of FACTUAL eating of children in the Bible!!! Here is a CONTEXTUAL example of something impossibly for the clergy to explain away!!!
2 Kings 6:26-29 (NIV) As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, “Help me, my lord the king!” The king replied, “If the Lord* (*God) does not help you, where can I get help for you? From the threshing floor? From the winepress?” Then he asked her, “What's the matter?” She answered, “This woman said to me, ‘Give up your son so we may eat him today, and tomorrow we'll eat my son.’ So we cooked my son and ate him* (*BTW… it came out delicious!!!). The next day I said to her, ‘Give up your son so we may eat him,’ but she had hidden him.”* (*…isn’t CHEATING a cardinal sin?)
They were all “compassionate” Godly, non-Atheistic heterosexual women that HAVE COOKED THEIR OWN CHILDREN FOR DINNER...!!! All in all, the Bible God STILL appears to be the most “loving and merciful” God in the religious World! Christians still love and promote this despicable God… Apparently they all fall by the GOD IS LOVE commercial in the Bible…!
Isaiah 49:15 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I* (*God) WILL NOT FORGET YOU!*
(Yeah... Christians do take this verse literally. The Clergy knows how to hide the fact that this sadistic LOVING GOD in the Bible will have you eat your own children, not aborted fetuses, but actual children for dinner!)
These are not obscure isolated verses in the Bible, but eating your own children for dinner is part of the Bible theme that the clergy and the preachers today know how to hide from public knowledge so they can still market Christianity in our advanced society as an appealing product! No wonder it takes YEARS OF CHRISTIAN BIBLE SCHOOLING to know how to do it just right in so many brands of the Christian faith!
The Bible writers are delighted to tell us that Jesus was whipped, beaten, thoroughly marinated in Roman spit, and nailed to a Holy Cross as a “spotless Lamb of God.” Then the Christian MUST EAT HIS ROMAN SPIT FLAVORED MEAT AND DRINK HIS HOLY BLOOD in whatever form to make it to Heaven! (John 6:53) The idea of eating one’s sons and daughters is part of the BIBLE story! Cannibalizing God the Son Jesus Christ is not half that bad…! The Bible also promotes the killing of infants to get rid of future enemies of God!!!
Psalm 137:8-9 - O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us- he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.
The Bible teaches that the enemies of God ought to be killed in their infancy when it is easier to get rid of them (Amen?) So abortion is not remotely that bad. In fact, IT IS VERY HUMANE...!!! Notice “humane” versus “Godly.” Godly requires that the fetus be born into a child before he/she can be destroyed as an infant!!! The Bible is mute on abortions because abortions were unsafe in Bible times and that is why it deals with killing CHILDREN after they are born when it hurts the most so everybody will get the message to obey the Bible God!!!
Isaiah 13:16 (KJV) Their little ones also will be dashed to pieces before their eyes; Their houses will be plundered And their wives ravished…. (How many sex starved women wish to be ravished…? But the children must be dashed to pieces!!! Praise the LORD!)
Too bad that not even the “Christian hating” liberal media gets involved in objective reporting of the religious stories in the Bible! By the way, God the Son Jesus Christ is hardly any better than his own Daddy God!
Revelation 2:23 (NIV) (In his “revelation” for the last days Jesus Christ says) I WILL STRIKE HER CHILDREN DEAD* (*No abortionist can beat Jesus at killing babies… AMEN? Sweet Jesus is the one killing children so he can teach everybody a lesson on WHO IS THE BOSS! The Clergy earned millions printing books about Jesus love for the little children of the world without telling anybody about Jesus’ vicious killing craze. In our society today he would be in jail for leading by example the killing of children to favor a particular religion!!!). Then ALL THE CHURCHES WILL KNOW that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.* (*I’m the BOSS says Jesus Christ!… He is such a great teacher and he must have learned all that from the Mafia... or is it the way around? Jesus is far more daring because the Mafia doesn’t go public talking like that.)
We definitely need a better Bible more in accord with factual science and realistic moral values if religion needs to survive as a crutch for low self esteemed people!
Most Christians are totally ignorant of what the Bible is all about. It is a religious people control device and a money making machine exploiting human religious gullibility! Christians don’t know how to deal with plain FACTS either from science or from their own Bible that they hardly read! Their preachers, the Pope, Bush and the Most Reverend Doctor Dobson all subscribe, worship and rule millions of people by this God! They can’t possibly be that ignorant! They do know more of the Bible than the average Christian!!!
Romans 15:4a (Saint Paul says) For EVERYTHING that was written in the past* (*Old Testament) was written to teach us* (*Christians).
