Is it better for a translator to have a large general vocabulary, or a smaller specialized vocabulary?

Imagine that there are two prospective translators, Frank and Joe. They both want to become translators of Korean-%26gt;English.

Frank knows 25,000 general vocabulary words in Korean, but no technical jargon.

Joe only knows 10,000 general vocabulary words in Korean, but also knows 2,000 specialty words in the field of shipbuilding and maritime words (Korea has a huge shipbuilding industry).

Which one would be more likely to find a job in translations first?|||Joe, because translations are mostly business related.
